Behaviour Adjustment Training (BAT) workshop in Haslemere, Surrey

I attended Grisha Stewarts BAT workshop this week with two friends. The workshop had been arranged by Haslemere Pets. It was extremely well organised, from having copies of the power point presentaion to having clipboards to help take notes.
BAT is all about "functional rewards" and I can see how this method of training could be useful for many owners and dogs. Grisha was a brilliant speaker making everything very clear and easy to understand.
I purchased her DVD and will be ordering her book that comes out in September. For information on BAT go to Grisha's website www.DoggieZen.com

Puppy walk in Nonsuch Park with CK9 Training

We've just got back from a really nice puppy walk with Chantal and Spice from CK9 Training. Ronnie and I went along as well to help some of the owners practice their recalls - they all did very well. Nonsuch Park in Surrey is an ideal place for puppies to socialise with other dogs and it has the added bonus of cyclists, people with prams and children to socialise them with as well. Although the odd squirrel may not always work in your favour!! The park has a lovely coffee shop as well. Chantal runs them once a month and I would highly recommend them to any puppy owner.

Phew - it was even hotter than yesterday.

I spoke to soon this morning - it just kept getting hotter and hotter in Surrey today. The Cool Coats are on order for my boys and I shall be putting some on the website soon. I am also trying out the Thundershirts which have also had great reviews with helping to relieve anxiety in dogs . With luck I will be stocking them in plenty of time for firework night (or should I say firework fortnight!).

New Puppy Items

Looks like it's not going to be so hot today - just as I'm about to order the Cool coats! Never mind they do say there's more hot weather to come.
We have a large delivery of puppy toys and other interesting items coming today. So I'll be sorting those out today but the hardest job will we keeping "the boys" noses out of the boxes before they help themselves!
Woke this morning with a really annoying cough. I hope it's gone by Wednesday as I'm going to a Grisha Stewart Behaviour Adjustment Training (BAT) workshop with Chantal from CK9 Training and I don't want to be coughing all the way through it. Wouldn't be to popular!
